Privacy Policy

Mala Jaap Counter is designed to work without an account. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the app.

Information handled

• Guest entries, goals, and settings are stored locally on your device.
• If you sign in, we handle your email address, display name, prayer counts, goals, and participation in Anusthaans or communities.
• Global standings display a chosen display name and aggregate count, not individual prayer-entry details.
• If you turn on reminders, we store a notification token for that device so scheduled reminders and Anusthaan alerts can be delivered.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide counting, cloud backup, progress, community, and leaderboard features. We do not sell personal information, serve advertising, or use cross-app tracking.

Service providers

Supabase provides authentication and cloud data storage. Google and Apple provide optional sign-in. Expo, Apple, and Google deliver push notifications to devices that have reminders turned on. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Retention and choices

Guest information remains until local app data is removed. Signed-in users can edit or remove count entries and permanently delete their account and synced Mala data in the app.
